Ice Princess

This dumb-as-a-stump teen girl coming-of-age movie envisions a high school physics geek (Michelle Trachtenberg) who turns into an ice skating pro as a result of her knowledge of physics. Kim Cattrall (“Sex and the City”) gives the only interesting performance in a movie that diminishes the usually dependable talents of Joan Cusack as the mother of the princess. Arcane ice skating terminology is freely spouted as our predictable heroine achieves ice skating accolades in spite of her affinity for falling on her bum in every competition she enters. When little Ms. Smarty Pants purposefully blows her Harvard interview in order to pursue skating, you know which chain is being pulled.
