Dog Days
Director Ulrich Seidl presents a mean spirited satire of Austrian suburbia in this ugly movie that is quite possibly the worst film (foreign or domestic) of 2003. Hailed by some critics as an implacable genius, and reviled by some as a moron with a camera, Ulrich Seidl spent years filming interminable scenes of domestic ennui to complete the film. “Dog Days” flits between an obsessive hitchhiker who assails her drivers with rude criticisms, a divorced couple who still live together after the death of their daughter, and a woman with a sadistic boyfriend who brings along his unpredictable sidekick to humiliate her.
