NATURAL BORN KILLERS — OLIVER STONE

Mike baits Cole with a film Cole has never been able to get through until now. What's drinking you might ask. Cole picked HOP STOOPID from Lagunitas Brewing Company. Is this Oliver Stone's worst film? Cole thinks so.

BLACK PANTHER — RYAN COOGLER

Treehouse Brewing's American Brown Ale BEAR is the beer of choice for Mike and Cole to hash out the first (and hopefully only) superhero movie to make it into the Feast. We also have our first food-fight as a result. Do superhero hero movies indoctrinate children into violent behavior? Cole thinks so. Could this be the movie that breaks LA GRANDE BOUFFE (THE BIG FEAST)? Superhero movies do indeed teach confrontation after all. Get out the electric knife for this one Bouffers, and don't worry about the mess.

IN THE REALM OF THE SENSES — Nagisa Oshima

Smuttynose Imperial Stout gives Cole and Mike the liquid foundation needed to discuss one of the most legendary and notorious films of Japanese Cinema. Non-simulated sex. You bet. You'll need a full set of utensils for this feast, so get out your forks, spoons, and the sharpest knives you can find — you'll know why. Bon appetite Bouffers.

THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD — Dan O'Bannon w/ guest Co-Host Grady Hendrix

Screenwriter Grady Hendrix joins the Feast this week to bring us the delightful THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. Cole broke out a bottle of MUDPUPPY PORTER from his personal stash for the occasion. Whether or not you're familiar with Dan O'Bannon's (screenwriter on "ALIEN"), you're in for a fun time. Bon appetite.

LADY BIRD — GRETA GERWIG

Mike holds Cole's feet to the fire as Cole lays out character flaw after character flaw for Saoirse Ronan's persona in what is destined to be one of the most overrated films of all time. MAGIC HAT BREWING'S #9 provided a nice buzz to the discussion. You can read the print essay (THE MILLENNIAL CONFORMIST — OR HOW TO LEARN TO LOVE STUPIDITY WITHOUT REALLY TRYING), watch the video essay, and listen to the podcast. Since Cole is the only film critic to spell out "Lady Bird's" flaws, at least he doesn't hold back.

THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI — MARTIN MCDONAGH

For LA GRANDE BOUFFE'S two-part 2018 Oscar series, LITTLE SUMPIN' SUMPIN' from Lagunitas Brewing gave Mike and Cole a little kick to hash out Martin McDonagh's Oscar nominated Black Comedy. Check back next Friday for our blistering discussion of that other Oscar-nominated flick LADY BIRD. Bon appetite.

VIVRE SA VIE — JEAN LUC GODARD

Jean-Luc Godard's fourth film features Godard's wife-at-the-time Anna Karina as an actress-turned-prostitute in this ground breaking example of the French New Wave. Stone Delicious IPA seemed like the perfect beer to go along with this equally attractive film.

THE YAKUZA — SYDNEY POLLOCK — W/ GUEST HOST JEREMY WORKMAN

Documentarian Jeremy Workman ("Who is Henry Jaglom," "Magical Universe") joins the boys to talk about Sydney Pollock's THE YAKUZA (starring Robert Mitchum, Keiko Kishi, Ken Takakura, and Richard Jordan). We kicked off the episode as our debut live-feed on Facebook.  Click here to watch http://bit.ly/2rCMzwU

The-yakuza

Although it was Cole's idea to do Mitchum's follow-up to "The Friends of Eddie Coyle," Jeremy still had his diary notes from seeing THE YAKUZA way back in 2001. Cole broke out a bottle of Hitachino Nest's REAL GINGER BREW because it only seemed right to have a legit Japanese craft beer on the show. This is one damned fine beer. Bon appetite.
