Quite honestly, yours is the first review that sums up my
feelings on Toy Story 3 thus far. I'm 23, so grew up with Toy
Story as my favorite childhood movie. This latest edition had me
sobbing–not because it was a good, moving story about the human
condition, but due to the fact that my favorite children's film
characters were GIVING UP and READY TO DIE by the end. It was
absolutely too dark for a G rating. Thanks for sticking your neck out
there and saying so. It seems that a lot of these critics are saying,
"It elicited emotion out of me, so it must have been brilliant"–when,
really, children still deserve to see movie characters with willpower
and joy in their lives.
