Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, and Ryan Gosling lower their box office merit with this unbaked psychological thriller about a suicidal man (Gosling) taunting his eccentric psychologist (McGregor) after surviving a horrible car accident.
Screenwriter David Benioff ("Troy") is largely to blame for the cinematic disaster, but director Marc Forster ("Finding Neverland") does nothing to salvage the film from certain obscurity.
Instead of giving the story a proper plot twist or two, the filmmakers succeed only in untying it completely.
Do not spend your money on this waste of celluloid.
Rated R. 98 mins.
