Fuzzy war drama balm.

This inane platitude serves as the inadequate underlying theme to Kenneth Branagh's filmic love letter to his hometown.

Jamie Dornan pulls the film's weight even as Branagh's bloodless script swallows up Dornan's best efforts. 

You still won't know what everyone was, and is, fighting about in Belfast. Too careful to be good.
