KINO LORBER TO OFFER SELECT ART HOUSE, DOCUMENTARIES AND CLASSIC FILMS ON HULU AND HULU PLUS

New York, NY – July 19, 2012 – Kino Lorber Inc. is proud to make available a curated collection of films on Hulu. Films from Kino Lorber’s library of 700-plus titles will be offered for limited windows on the free, ad-supported Hulu as well as the Hulu Plus subscription-based service. 

Starting today (Thursday, July 19, 2012), Hulu offers 35 feature and short films from Kino Lorber’s digital catalogue of classic, foreign, documentary and American independent films.

Set to expand in the months to come, Kino Lorber’s launch on Hulu includes some of the most influential masterworks in film history, including restored editions of The Blue Angel (1930), starring Emil Jannings and Marlene Dietrich, Buster Keaton’s The General (1926) and 18 of his short films, as well as Fritz Lang’s The Complete Metropolis(1927) – among others.

Videocracy – Soon on Hul

On the documentary side, Kino Lorber will be bringing to Hulu Fela Kuti: Music is the Weapon, about theNigerian Afrobeat musician and composer; Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould, about the revolutionary pianist; Two in the Wave, a doc focused on the friendship between filmmakers Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut; and Videocracy, an inventive examination of Berlusconi’s Italy and segments of the Italian population invested in celebrity worship – and more.

Le Quattro Volte – Now on Hulu

 Kino Lorber’s on-demand offering on Hulu will also make available some of the most rigorously curated (and best reviewed) art house films of the recent years, including the Italian, Film Festival hit Le Quattro Volte; the American indie comedy Momma’s Man; and the French historical thriller Army of Crime.

On August 16, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Academy Award nominated Dogtooth will also be available through the service, while other titles from Kino Lorber’s digital library will premiere during the months to follow.
