NEW YORK, NY - March 5, 2015 - Kino Lorber announces the DVD release ofTHIS AIN'T NO MOUSE MUSIC!, a film by Chris Simon and Maureen Gosling about roots music icon Chris Strachwitz who, through his Arhoolie Records label, introduced many Americans to their rich and vibrant musical heritage that extended well beyond what could be heard on the usual Top 40 stations.

Born in Germany, Strachwitz was introduced to American music after hearing it on Armed Forces Radio, and gained an appreciation for the roots and continuing traditions of regional American musical styles that many Americans themselves had often taken for granted, or never heard at all. This critically acclaimed documentary follows Strachwitz on his cross-country journey as he continues his passionate, ongoing search for America's music.

THIS AIN'T NO MOUSE MUSIC! features such music legends as Michael Doucet, Flaco Jiménez, Treme Brass Band, Richard Thompson, Big Mama Thornton, Taj Mahal, Lightnin' Hopkins, Country Joe McDonald, and Ry Cooder, among others.

Set to street on March 10, THIS AIN'T NO MOUSE MUSIC! comes to DVD with a SRP of $24.95, and bonus features including the trailer and 34 minutes of deleted scenes.

The film had its world premiere at SXSW and was named a Top Ten Audience Favorite at the Hot Docs International Documentary Festival. It was also an Official Selection at other film festivals including Melbourne International Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Dallas Video Fest 26, and the New Zealand International Film Festival.
