Optoma PT100 DLP Projector REVIEW

by

Optoma_pt100 At just four pounds, this relatively inexpensive projector packs quite a punch. From five-feet away, I was able to achieve a 43" screen perfect for playing games or watching a movie. The image isn't the brightest but it's fine for a perfectly portable projector you can aim at a white wall and get instant results. From ten-feet away, I got a 63" screen that was acceptabable for watching movies or game-playing in a dark room. The unit is a little noisy, but some of that effect is compensated for by its remarkably reflective built-in speaker. The unit is especially compact and remains surprisingly cool during operation. Set-up is fast and easy–plug in the power cord and the audio/video (red-white-yellow) cords, press the power button, and you're watching movies or playing games. The focus wheel is well-placed and easy to get a clear image with.

My only complaints about the projector are that it could be brighter–50 Lumens isn't much, and the power cord needs to be about 3' longer for more ease of placement away from electical wall outlets. Still, at "$199.00" your money is well spent. This is a great little projector for kids or as an entry level unit.
