In 2011, writer/director Terrence Malick is scheduled to release his latest film "The Tree of Life" starring Sean Penn as Jack, a Midwestern son to Brad Pitt's character Mr. O'Brien. Jessica Chastain plays the wife to Pitt's '50s era character. Jack is a "lost soul in the modern world" searching for a meaning to his life. Fox Searchlight Pictures will distribute the film in the US. After Malick's 2005 clunker "The New World," "The Tree of Life" promises something better if only for its famously mercurial cast of Penn and Pitt.
